Michael Jackson’s movie is now in theaters! And his eldest son, Prince Jackson, 29, spoke about the moment he saw his cousin Jaafar portraying his father on the big screen.

In an interview with ABC Files He confessed that reliving Michael’s presence through his cousin was a “bittersweet” moment.but with great meaning. Jaafar, 29 years old and son of Jermaine Jackson, was selected to star in the film after a worldwide search for actors, and According to Prince, he achieved something that seemed impossible: a perfect resemblance.

When his father died, Prince was only 12 years old, but he claims that his cousin was faithful to the essence of the King of Pop:

“The first time I saw him in person, with his hair and makeup, it was really an emotional shock, because I hadn’t seen my father for a long time.”

He went on to say: “Jaafar embodied it perfectly and brought it back in that moment. I just wanted to give him a hug.”

Pride for your cousin

Besides, Prince did not hesitate to express to his cousin the pride he felt in him. According to him, the Jackson family’s reaction to seeing Jaafar’s work has been very positive and many relatives attended the filming to support the young actor.

“As a family, we gave him all our support and were completely confident that Jaafar would perform well, but I’m pleased to say that I think it far exceeded our expectations”Prince stated. “I’m impressed with what he accomplished here.”said.

The film “Michael”, directed by Antoine Fuqua, follows the artist’s life both in his most intimate facet off stage and in some of his most emblematic performances during his beginnings as a soloist.

The cast also includes Colman Domingo as Joseph Jackson, Nia Long as Katherine Jackson, and Juliano Krue Valdi playing a young Michael. Adding Prince Jackson as one of the executive producers.
