This week, 801 Restaurant Neighborhood LLC, a company that owns several establishments such as 801 Chophouse, 801 Fish and 801 Native, specializing mostly in meat and seafood, announced that it filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
The company based primarily in Kansas filed for bankruptcy before the United States Bankruptcy Court of that state in order to restore some guarantees that it had granted to several companies it owned, such as 801 Fish and 801 On Nicollet; both have already closed.
However, in the statement, 801 Restaurant Neighborhood LLC highlighted that “The companies that own and operate the restaurants are not bankrupt, and have no plans or need to file for bankruptcy. since individual restaurant companies that operate successfully are not affected by the application to benefit from Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Law presented by the 801 Restaurant Group,” he clarified.
According to some company reports, The establishments that will go into restoration have liabilities of up to $18.7 million dollars. “The objective of Chapter 11 is to restructure these (801 Fish en and 801 On Nicollet) and other obligations for which 801 Restaurant Neighborhood has responsibility,” the company commented, while hoping that this will not have a major impact on the other branches.
The other establishments that will operate normally during the bankruptcy and restoration process are: “801 Chophouses in Denver, Des Moines, Omaha, Kansas Metropolis, Leawood, St. Louis, Minneapolis and Tysons Corner in the Washington, DC area, and 801 Fish in St. Louis,” according to the company.
