Kerr took over in 2014 and since then led one of the team’s most successful cycles, with four NBA titles in six finals played. Added to this journey are his achievements as a player, where he won five championships with Chicago Bulls and San Antonio Spurs.
In his statements, the coach recognized his bond with the team and with the role he plays. “I love training, but these jobs have an expiration date. Sometimes it’s time for new blood and new solutions and all that. If that’s the case, then I’ll be grateful for the most incredible opportunity a person could have to train in front of our fans. from coaching Steph Curry, from coaching Dray (Inexperienced), to the entire group. It may still continue, it may not. “I don’t know at this point.”

Before making a decision, Kerr explained that he will take a short period to evaluate the situation. “A week or two,” he indicated, before speaking with the board to define the direction of the team. The analysis process comes in a context in which the squad combines experience and physical wear after a season marked by injuries.
Within that group, Stephen Curry’s role remains central. Kerr highlighted his influence on and off the court. “He is, without a doubt, the best face of a franchise that I have seen in any sport. He simply lets me coach him and wants to be coached. He is an incredible teammate and collaborator.”
The coach also starred in a moment with Curry and Draymond Green during a timeout in the final minutes of the game against Phoenix. “I don’t know what’s going to happen next, but I love you guys.” he told them, in a scene captured by the broadcast.
In his non-public steadiness, Kerr reviewed his career in the league. “I have been the luckiest guy in the history of the NBA,” he said, remembering his time as a player alongside figures like Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Tim Duncan and David Robinson, in addition to having been coached by coaches like Phil Jackson and Gregg Popovich.
“I have been incredibly fortunate to come here and inherit this team,” he added.
The team’s current context includes players like Curry (38 years old), Jimmy Butler (36) and Inexperienced (36), all with a current contract for one more season, which places the organization at a moment of evaluation about its immediate future.
