Kate del Castillo is preparing to return to Mexican territory with a very special reason: her directorial debut at the Guadalajara International Film Festival next Saturday, April 18.
“Zumbido” is the name of the short film in which the famous woman worked as a scriptwriter and director.being the first time that he takes a break in front of the cameras and adopts these roles in an audiovisual project.
According to information released by the Guadalajara International Film Festival, the audiovisual piece is 16 minutes long and through its plot, seeks to raise awareness about the physical and psychological violence exercised against women.
“For me it was important to tell a story that is not my story, but that of many women; I interviewed many and so this is a short of several of them, but put in one“said Eric del Castillo’s daughter in an interview with El Accepted.
Likewise, Kate del Castillo revealed that she will seek to turn this piece into a feature film, whose script would already be written and adapted for said format. In this sense, confirmed that after passing through the Guadalajara Film Festival, he will tour different festivals internationally to spread his work.
The cast of “Zumbido” is led by Ana Sofía Gástica in the role of “Verónica”, Martín Barba as the aggressor, as well as Diana Bovio and Mauricio Isaac.
According to the official synopsis, the story revolves around “Veronica,” a “celebrated and admired actress” who struggles to maintain the image of a perfect life while her inner world cracks under the weight of private abuse.
“Caught between silence, fear, and a sudden panic attack, she must decide whether to continue acting out the illusion or break the cycle in front of everyone.”reads the description of the audiovisual from the Festival’s official website.
The screening of “Zumbido”, a short film written and directed by Kate del Castillo, will take place next Saturday, April 18as part of the official programming of the Guadalajara International Film Festival.
