Ronald Day was one of the prominent executives of Hispanic television, who stood out for his work in the two most influential networks in the industry, Telemundo and Univision.. At each of the television stations, Day specialized in entertainment and the production of high-profile reality shows, such as “La Casa de los Famosos.”
A couple of years ago, Day retired from his life as president of entertainment and chief whisper officer at NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises. He is currently promoting his book “The Power of Focus.” Whose writing focuses on providing a practical guide on focus and leadership. It speaks to all those who intend to grow personally and professionally.
Because of this, we spoke with Ronald Day, where he detailed the reasons that led him to move away from the world of television to literally focus on a new life project. Here the author explains how his book on the power of focus seeks to provide practical tools to university students, entrepreneurs and business leaders in the community, sharing learnings from his years in television production and details about his upcoming international speaking tour.
Ronald tells us that with this project he seeks to be in the United States, Latin America and Europe, not only with the desire to promote the book, but also giving conferences on these topics. Regarding this possible experience, he says that his objective is to bring tangible messages, “messages from current life.” “Things happen and that’s why I’m happy to have done it,” added the writer.
Clearly, the pace of his life has been able to change after being one of the most influential heads within Telemundo in recent years and about this we asked him how he feels and how he lives every day with this new career.
Given this, he tells us that: “Now I am working more because today all the responsibility is on me. Now, I promote the book, do interviews and prepare my conferences. At this moment, the change is what I am focusing on now, on the content.”
His career has also brought him moments of controversy; His name has been linked to notorious scandals within the entertainment industry and for this reason we wanted to know how Ronald Day copes with everything that is said about him. When questioned, he assures us that he has had the opportunity to work with many people and, -for some reason-, one becomes more important than one thought. “For criticism and congratulations, I have been a down-to-earth person… always focused on doing wonderful things,” he added.
When faced with criticism, he says he doesn’t pay attention to it: “I don’t give explanations, I don’t get infected.” “I don’t stop to think anything good, nothing bad, I just focus on doing wonderful things.”
