FloyyMenor: without fear of success

FloyyMenor never had the slightest doubt that he would break it in the world of music. Situations such as being born in Vicuña, a small city in Chile – with less than 30 thousand inhabitants -, not knowing anyone in the industry and not having studied music, never deterred him from his most fundamental objective.

“It’s just that I was always willing [sic] to what I wanted,” said Floyy. “I was always daring, in the concept of going down [sic]without fear of success.”

At 17, Floyy, whose given name is Alan Felipe Galleguillos, moved to Santiago, the Chilean capital. He only had his backpack on his shoulder and an immense desire to reach his goal. He survived on what he earned by singing and rapping in nightclubs in the capital.

Three years later – he is 20 years old – Floyy is living his dream, but in leaps and bounds, although nothing that he has not visualized. The urban music artist is turning the heads of even the most skeptical because of the speed with which things are happening in his career.

After “Pa la Europa”, which was the first song with which he attracted attention on social networks in 2023, “Gata Totally” followed in 2024, a song he performs with Cris MJ, another Chilean rapper who is a popularity phenomenon in that country.

This song was placed at number one on the Chilean Billboard list when it surpassed one billion reproductions. It also peaked at number three on Spotify World and was at number one on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart for 14 consecutive weeks. It was the first time that a Chilean artist achieved this achievement since 1999.

Floyy says that he has no specific musical references—except for a guy who rapped—and he attributes his urban style, which has a mix of reggaeton, rap, and electronica, to himself. He started writing songs on his cell phone that came out when he arrived at the recording studio.

“I gave them whatever came to mind,” he said.

“Gata Totally”, in 2026, continues to impress. It has just become the fastest Latin song to reach 2 billion views on Spotify, and it achieved it in 780 days, surpassing the records previously held by hits such as “Despacito”, “Dákiti”, “Me Porto Bonito” and “La Bachata”.

Floyy explained that in Chile, the term “gata” is used to refer to a girl, a woman, who in the case of this song is alone, he said. Although it is possible that the singer is using only rather lonelywhich would be a more appropriate translation for “alone.” And in Chile it is not a derogatory term, she assured, as it is in Mexico, for example, where it is a classist adjective that is used to refer to women who work in domestic service or to women considered unsophisticated.

Whatever the case, this cut has already put Floyy on the map, who is not willing to let this moment pass. He is already preparing an album with “plenty” of guests from Mexico, Colombia and other countries. There are plans to go on a world tour and desire to win many awards.

How confident are you of achieving it? Very safe, he said.

“I always had that intuition,” he said. “I always knew the time would come.”
