President Donald Trump attacked Abigail Spanberger, whom he blames for “ruining” Virginia during the few months she has been governor.
The former member of the House of Representatives defeated Winsome Earle-Sears in last November’s elections and that gave her the right to replace Republican Glenn Youngkin in office on January 17.
Although the 46-year-old woman has been trying to lay the foundations for her government project for less than three months, the nation’s president severely criticized her conception focused on strengthening the economy.
Through a post shared on the Truth Social platform, Trump expressed that Spanberger has already managed to scare away companies, which he considers disastrous for the future of Virginia.
“I can’t believe what this new governor, Spanberger, has done to the Commonwealth. How sad!”
Add so many taxes. A food and beverage tax, a digital services tax and a public services tax,” he wrote.

Without presenting any evidence, the head of the nation warned that the companies convinced at the time by Glenn Youngkin to invest in Virginia are now “looking for ways to rescind” the contracts they signed, since they generate very low profits.
“Virginia has lost its energy, vitality and strength. There are people leaving who would never have considered it!”
Everything happened very quickly! This place, which was once prosperous and powerful, and which everyone envied, became a Commonwealth governed by a person who has no idea what taxes are. lows and economic strength,” he stressed.
Since Abigail Spanberger dared to question the president, when she was in charge of responding to his State of the Union speech on February 24, showing her rejection of his administration’s economic and immigration policies, Donald Trump has put greater focus on his way of governing Virginia.
However, the establishment of new taxes is actually tax proposals arising from Democratic legislators in the Virginia House of Representatives, which, since they have not been approved by the legislature, have still not reached Abigail Spanberger’s desk.
