This week, the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced the recall of the famous “Boner Bears” candies from the manufacturer JXK Enterprises because they contain an active ingredient not declared on the packaging that may pose a health risk to some consumers.
According to the health entity, the product intended to improve sexual performance contains sildenafil, a medication commonly known as Viagra, which is prescribed to treat erectile dysfunction.
Although products or foodstuffs such as Boner Bears Intercourse Chocolate are sold in adult stores with the promise of improving sexual potency and libido, The FDA highlighted that consumers who take any other medication or have a pathology for which it is contraindicated may put their health at risk by consuming them.
According to the agency, the consumption of sildenafil can be of great risk for people with heart disease, high cholesterol or blood pressure, diabetes, among others, it can even interact negatively with certain medications.
Until now, both The manufacturer and the FDA have not received reports of people affected by the consumption of this product.; However, JXK Enterprises urges its customers to discard the product or return it to the store for a refund. To do so, they can contact the company at (954) 281-2459 or through [email protected].
According to fda reports This is not the first time that the brand has suffered a recall of its products due to undeclared ingredients on its packaging. In February, it was alerted about the recall of Boner Bears chocolate syrup, so the entity indicated to consumers that any adverse reaction related to the consumption of this type of product or others can be notified to the agency’s MedWatch program.
