This week, the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced recall of Angel Strong point brand matcha green tea and other products due to possible salmonella contamination.
According to the health entity, the manufacturer SKS Copack warned that in several of its beverage and dessert products one of its ingredients from its external distributor California Dairies, Inc. was contaminated. Among the affected brands are also Royal Gold, Boba Time, Fanale and Denda.
In the fda announcement The products that are being withdrawn from the market were detailed along with their expiration dates and lot codes, which were distributed in at least 25 states in the country, including California, in retailers, cafes and restaurants:
- Angel Strong point Products 4/3# matcha green tea with lot codes 20260224 and 20260424 and best before dates August 25, 2027 and October 23, 2027.
- Angel Strong point Products 15/3# milk tea with lot code 20260224 and best before date August 25, 2027.
- Taro Angel Strong point Products 4/3# with lot code 20260224 and expiration date August 25, 2027.
- Angel Strong point Products 4/3# white chocolate with lot code 20260327 and expiration date September 25, 2027.
- Coco Angel Strong point Products 4/3# with lot code 20260415 and expiration date October 14, 2027.
- Horchata Angel Strong point Products 4/3# with lot codes 20260414 and 20260424 and expiration dates October 13, 2027 and October 23, 2027.
- Angel Strong point Products Strawberry Soft Ice Cream, 10-pack (2 lb), lot code 20260414 and best before date October 13, 2027.
- Angel Strong point Products Caramel Latte 4/3# with lot code 20260414 and best before date October 13, 2027.
- Royal Gold French Vanilla Capp 6/2# with lot code 20260416 and expiration date October 15, 2027.
- Royal Gold Dutch Mocha Capp 6/2# with lot code 20260303 and best before date September 1, 2027.
- Boba Time Italian Powdered Yogurt 5/3.5 lb with lot code 20260216 and best before date August 17, 2027.
- Boba Time Coco Powder 5/3.5# with lot code 20260428 and expiration date October 27, 2027.
- Boba Time Pistachio Powder 5/3.5# with lot code 20260219 and expiration date August 20, 2027.
- Fanale Ube-Taro 10/2# with batch code 20260223 and expiration date August 24, 2027.
- Denda milk ice cream mix, 12 units/1 kg, with batch code 20260403 and expiration date October 2, 2027.
The FDA warns consumers that eating foods contaminated with salmonella can be harmful to health, Therefore, it advises customers who purchased these products to discard them or return them to the stores where they purchased them for their respective refund.
The manufacturer told consumers that if they have questions about the recall, they can contact SKS Copack at (562) 404-8158 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. PT, Monday through Friday.
