Unfortunately for his followers, Taylor Swift will not attend the 2026 American Song Awards. According to Folk, the singer of “The Destiny of Ophelia” will skip the annual gala to be held next Monday, May 25 live from Las Vegas, despite starting as the great favorite of the night.
An undisputed leader in nominations
Taylor Swift leads the list of artists with the most nominations this year, adding a total of eight for her album “The Life of a Showgirl.” The categories in which it competes are:
- Artist of the Year
- Album of the Year for “The Life of a Showgirl”
- Song of the Year for “The Destiny of Ophelia”
- Best Music Video for “The Destiny of Ophelia”
- Song of the Summer by “Elizabeth Taylor”
- Best Female Pop Artist
- Best Pop Song for “The Destiny of Ophelia”
- Best Pop Album for “The Life of a Showgirl”
Swift currently holds the record for most AMA wins of all time, with 40 wins. In second place is Michael Jackson with 26, a distance that, according to experts, no one will be able to close for a long time.
What will Taylor do instead of attending the AMAs?
While her colleagues walk the red carpet in Las Vegas, Taylor Swift will be busy in New York, apparently planning her upcoming wedding to Travis Kelce, Folk said. The couple, who have been together for almost three years, reportedly plan to get married on July 3 in the Big Apple.
During the last few weeks, the singer and the NFL player have been seen numerous times walking through the streets of New York, finalizing details of what promises to be one of the most media events of the year.
