Hilton will launch a series of 12 road trip packages next week that redeem for just 250 points from its Hilton Honors loyalty program. The figure is equivalent to a single night at any Hampton by Hilton, which puts the draw within the reach of virtually any traveler. The first fall is scheduled for the week of May 26 on the Hilton Honors Experiences platform. The chain will release additional experiences throughout the summer.
Each package is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis and only one user can claim it. The statistical probability of redeeming it is low. The catalog works as a map of the most curious festivals and routes of the American summer, accessible on your own even if the official experience sells out in seconds.
“The Open Road feels especially significant on this country’s 250th anniversary,” said Tag Weinstein, Hilton Chief Marketing Officer, in the program’s official statement. The chain seeks to position its members as protagonists of summer celebrations with packages that cross national parks, local festivals and events in Washington.
The summer of the American motorway shuttle
The offer comes at a time of tourist pressure on US roads. The American Automobile Affiliation projects a record forty-five million travelers for Memorial Day weekend 2026, with 39.1 million traveling by road. That means that eight out of every ten people who travel at least 50 miles during the start of summer will do so behind the wheel. Los Angeles appears among the five markets with the highest car rental demand for the period, along with Orlando, Las Vegas, Denver and Boston.
The context includes more expensive fuel. The national average for traditional gasoline is at the highest levels since the summer of 2022, according to the same association. Still, demand for leisure travel remains strong, with the $250 bp fuel card included in every Hilton package becoming a particular piece of the appeal. For a family that already intended to drive southwest or cross into a national park, the draw comes across a decision that many are making these weeks.

250th anniversary context
The program, named Hilton Honors The US Experiences, is part of the celebrations of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States. One of the experiences culminates with the 4th of July on the National Mall in Washington, during the Salute to The US 250 events. The rest operate outside the official calendar and focus on local festivals and scenic routes through national parks.
Hampton by Hilton serves as the program’s infrastructure. The chain has nearly 2,400 properties in the United States and, according to its own data, on any popular road in the country there is a Hampton less than 30 minutes away on average. The brand includes hot breakfast and is pet-friendly. It is located in the middle segment of the Hilton catalog.
“Hampton has been a trusted base of operations for cross-country travelers, including families with pets, for decades,” said Shruti Gandhi Buckley, global SVP of Hampton by Hilton, at the program launch. The argument fits the profile of a traveler who combines a medium budget with long road itineraries.
The chain advanced seven of the twelve experiences. The remaining five will be announced during the summer. These are the ones that are already known.
Stargazing in Bryce Canyon and Zion

The package proposes a route through two of the parks with the darkest skies in the United States. Close with a private astronomical observation session guided by a professional astronomer. Bryce Canyon obtained Gold Tier certification from Global Darkish Sky Park in 2019, placing it among the best settings in the world to see the Milky Way without light pollution. Zion added the same certification in 2021.
How to put it together on your own: From Los Angeles it is about a seven-hour drive to Zion and just over eight to Bryce Canyon. The most solid local operators are Darkish Ranger Telescope Tours, with its own observatory in Tropic and a rate of $50 per adult with discounts for children, and Bryce Canyon Stargazing, dedicated to guided experiences with large-aperture telescopes. The park itself offers free astronomy programs taught by its rangers on Wednesdays and Fridays from May to September, without prior reservation.
Roswell UFO Festival

Scheduled for July 2-4 in Roswell, New Mexico. The festival has been active since 1996 and is built on the 1947 UFO incident, still an obligatory reference in American pop culture. The Hilton package adds VIP access to the Global UFO Museum & Research Center and the cloak drone show. Its owner participates as a judge in the costume contest for pets and humans.
How to put it together on your own: The festival is free to enter its main activities, which include a parade through downtown Roswell and a market with vendors specializing in extraterrestrial motifs. Access to the Global UFO Museum has a symbolic cost and is open all year round. Roswell is far from Los Angeles by road (about 13 hours), so the most practical option is usually to fly to El Paso and drive three hours north, or arrive directly at Roswell Regional Airport with connections from Dallas or Phoenix.
Pursuit of Happiness Birth Aspect motorway

It is the most attractive prize in the program: a 2026 Jeep Big Cherokee and a card for $5,000 in bp gasoline for a full year. Includes a customizable 14-day itinerary with GetYourGuide support and Hampton stays along the route. It works as an aspirational motorway shuttle without a predetermined destination.
How to put it together on your own: The own version ignores the car premium and annual gasoline, although it preserves the free route logic. For 14 days from Los Angeles, a classic combination integrates the Pacific Cruise Freeway to the north and the parks of southwestern Utah to the east. Planning is simplified with apps such as Roadtrippers and Wanderlog, which allow you to calculate distances, fuel costs and stops based on vehicle consumption.
Picklesburgh

July 16-19 in downtown Pittsburgh. The Picklesburgh festival is in its 11th year and was named Finest Distinctiveness Food Festival 2025 by USA Nowadays 10Best Readers’ Selection, an award it has won for four consecutive years. It’s an event dedicated entirely to the pickle in all its possible forms, from pickle beer and pickle ice cream to specialty cocktails. The program includes games such as jam bobbing and a mechanical jam inspired by the Texan mechanical bull. Hilton’s VIP package adds private tastings and entry to the most sought-after competitions. Close with a year’s supply of festival pickles.
How to put it together on your own: Picklesburgh is free to enter and attracted 250,000 people in its last edition. The focal point is PPG Plaza, where the iconic giant Heinz pickle balloon floats. The official lineup releases vendors, map and schedules via picklesburgh.com in the weeks leading up to the festival.
Plant life-Bama Fishing Rodeo

June 5-7 in Perdido Key, Florida, right on the Alabama border. It is one of the most popular fishing tournaments in the Gulf of Mexico, with 30 categories ranging from catfish to sailfish. The 2026 edition turns 13 and maintains its profile as a “common man’s tournament”, with an awards ceremony on Sunday and live music throughout the weekend at the Plant life-Bama Yacht Club.
How to put it together on your own: Registration for the tournament is done through the Fishing Chaos platform and allows entire families to participate with separate tickets for adults and minors. The Plant life-Bama bar, host of the event since 1964, is a musical and gastronomic destination in its own right. The closest airport is Pensacola, a 25-minute drive away.
American Coaster Like a flash Lane Aspect motorway Shuttle

Four days of travel through some of the amusement parks with the most impressive roller coasters in the country. The itinerary is curated by American Coaster Enthusiasts (ACE), an organization founded in 1978 that brings together more than 7,200 coaster followers around the world. The package includes official ACE membership and an action camera to record the best moments of the itinerary.
How to put it together on your own: ACE’s standard membership is affordable and opens up access to more than 75 regional and national events a year, including the Coaster Con convention. For your own motorway shuttle focused on legendary roller coasters, must-see stops typically include Cedar Point in Ohio, Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia (an hour from Los Angeles), and Kennywood in Pittsburgh.
Fourth of July in Washington

The seventh experience coincides with the Great American Reveal Excellent, which from June 25 to July 10 will occupy one mile of the National Mall with pavilions from the 56 states and US territories. Includes a 110-foot Ferris wheel and the Smithsonian’s restored carousel. The package adds early access seating to the Fourth of July fireworks show, part of the official anniversary program.
How to assemble it yourself: Admission to the gorgeous is free upon registration at freedom250.org. The National Mall operates under the management of the National Park Provider, which maintains public access to the fireworks display without the need for a ticket. Shaded areas are scarce and announced safety protocols suggest arriving several hours before the popular event.
Hilton Honors in depth
The Hilton loyalty program is free and you can sign up in less than five minutes from the official website or app. The structure has five levels: Basic Member, Silver, Gold, Diamond and Diamond Reserve, the latter introduced in 2026 as a new premium category. Points are earned at a rate of 10 per dollar spent on stays, with increasing bonuses depending on the user’s level.
To reach Silver, four stays or ten nights a year are enough. Gold is achieved with fifteen stays or 25 nights. Diamond requires 25 stays or 50 nights. Each level adds specific benefits such as bonus points, high-speed web free from price, breakfast or food credit in US properties, room upgrades when available and the fifth night free from price when redeeming points for long stays. Points do not expire if the account registers activity every 24 months.
Beyond the draw, the 250 point mechanic is valid as a gateway. A single night in any Hampton already leaves the user eligible for future redemptions, accessible in any American city that is on the travel radar.
How to participate in drops
Joining Hilton Honors is free. Each experience is released as a separate fall on the Hilton Honors Experiences platform and is claimed on a first-come, first-served basis. The chain recommends downloading the Hilton Honors app and activating push notifications to find out about each launch in good time. Experiences include minimum age restrictions (18 or 21 years old, depending on package) and specific conditions detailed in each fall.
Tool box for the summer motorway shuttle
Beyond the raffle, almost all of these experiences are accessible on your own. The Roswell UFO Festival and Picklesburgh are open to the general public with affordable tickets. The Plant life-Bama Fishing Rodeo also accepts direct registration on its official site. Stargazing programs in Zion and Bryce Canyon are booked with local operators throughout the season.
To plan the trip, it is advisable to have some apps on hand. Google Maps remains the most complete for routes and traffic in real time. Roadtrippers calculates fuel, stops and times. AllTrails is useful for national parks with hiking. The AAA app offers roadside assistance and discounts on lodging. GasBuddy allows you to locate the lowest fuel price in each section. Any traveler can put together their own tour of Utah or join the American summer festivals with this toolbox, without depending on the lottery.
