The president of the United States, Donald Trump, said this Friday that, despite his desire to attend the wedding of his eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., this weekend in the Bahamas, his commitment and “love for America.” They do not allow you to leave your obligations in the midst of the war with Iran and the threats against Cuba.
“While I greatly desired to be with my son, Don Jr., and the newest member of the Trump family, his future wife, Bettina, the circumstances surrounding the Administration, as well as my love to the United States of America, they don’t allow me to do it“, announced the president on his Fact Social network.
The Republican insisted that he considers “important to stay in Washington, DC, in the White House, during this important period of time” and ended with “Congratulations to Don and Bettina!”
The confirmation of the absence of the American president at the nuptials of his first-born son comes a day after he said in the Oval Office that he would try to attend what he described as “a very small, private event,” but that it would not be “a good time, due to Iran and other issues.”
“It is a situation in which I have nothing to gain: If I attend, they destroy me, if I don’t attend, the ‘fake news’ destroys me‘” he responded to questions from the press about whether he would be present at the celebration.
The president’s first-born son and model Bettina Anderson got engaged in December 2025 at the Camp David presidential retreat. own Trump announced the good news at a Christmas event in the White House.
According to CNN, the wedding will take place this weekend on a small island in the Bahamas, with a list of very exclusive guests composed of about 50 family members and friends of the couple.
Don Jr. is the son of the New York magnate with his first wife, Ivana Trump, with whom he also had Eric and Ivanka Trump.
His two oldest children have been left in charge of the family business after the Republican’s return to the White House.
