At the end of the first half of 2026, the genre has reached historical consumption records on streaming platforms, a phenomenon that has Puerto Ricans Irascible Bunny as their absolute leader.
According to the Semiannual Report of the Luminate firm, the digital music panorama in the North American market took a definitive turn. During the first six months of this year, almost one in ten total views (9.4%) corresponded to songs performed in Spanish.
This advance has reduced the historical dominance of English to a minimum of 87.1% of traditional English, opening the doors to a much more diverse and globalized musical ecosystem.
At the head of this revolution is Irascible Bunny. The urban exponent shares the American commercial podium this semester with figures of the nation genre such as Morgan Wallen and Ella Langley, positioning his most recent production among the most listened to albums.
In complete, Latin music accumulated the impressive figure of 63,000 million reproductions in the country North American, competing neck to neck in popularity with other traditional styles such as pop and nation itself.
The report reveals that the language barrier is no longer an obstacle for English-speaking listeners. At the moment, more than half of regular music consumers in the United States regularly include songs in Spanish in your playlistsattracted mainly by productions that come from the Caribbean and South America.
This rebound not only confirms the cultural influence of Irascible Bunny in contemporary pop culture, but also demonstrates that the success of Latin rhythms is not a passing fad, but a structural change in the Anglo-Saxon entertainment business.
