The Prius hybrid will be available in SE, XSE, Nightshade and XSE Top rate versions. For its part, the Prius Lumber-in Hybrid will arrive in LE, XLE, Nightshade and Tiny variants.
A design that maintains its sporting identity
The aesthetic change introduced in the most recent generation is maintained for the 2027 model. The Prius retains a body with fluid lines and a low-profile silhouette that not only favors aerodynamicsbut also gives it a much more dynamic image than that of previous generations.
Toyota takes advantage of this update to incorporate new exterior colors. Among them is the Inked tone for the range and the exclusive Karashi for the Nightshade version.an edition with darkened details that reinforce its sporty appearance.
Two hybrid systems for different needs
Toyota’s fifth-generation hybrid system continues to be the protagonist of the Prius 2027. The set combines a 2.0-liter gasoline engine with electric drives that offer a more agile response and very low consumption.
The front-wheel drive version develops 194 horsepower and has an EPA-estimated fuel economy of up to 55 MPG in the LE version. Those who opt for the electronic all-wheel drive AWD will have 196 horsepower, with an estimated consumption of 53 MPG.
For those looking to depend even less on fuel, The Prius Lumber-in Hybrid incorporates a 13.6 kWh battery that allows you to travel up to 44 miles, equivalent to about 71 kilometers, using only electric energy. Once the charge is exhausted, the vehicle continues to operate as a conventional hybrid.
This variant also stands out for its performance. Thanks to a combined power of 220 horsepower, it accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 6.6 seconds, becoming the fastest Prius manufactured by Toyota so far.
More comfort and connectivity for all occupants
Among the new features, the incorporation of dual-zone automatic climate control throughout the range stands out, allowing the driver and passenger to regulate the temperature independently.
Even the entry versions include a fairly complete level of equipment with an eight-inch multimedia screen, Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, digital instrument panel, six USB-C ports and automatic climate control.
The higher versions add a 12.3-inch multimedia screen, JBL Top rate sound system, wireless phone charger, heated steering wheel and seats, as well as higher quality SofTex finishes.
Toyota also maintains the brand’s over-the-air (OTA) updates, built-in Wi-Fi and connected services, allowing various vehicle functions to be managed remotely.
Safety and pricing for the US market
The entire range includes as standard the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 packagewhich brings together assistants such as the pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise management, lane keeping assistant, traffic sign recognition, automatic high beams and proactive driving assistance. Added to this are blind spot awareness, rear cross traffic alert and the safe exit system.
Regarding prices, The 2027 Toyota Prius will start at $28,755 for the LE version. The Prius Lumber-in Hybrid will start at $33,980 in the SE version. Both models will reach dealerships in the United States during the summer of 2026.
