This week, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission alerted consumers via a statement on their website about the recall of at least 17 thousand coffee machines sold in retail chains due to high burn risks.

According to the entity’s announcement, The product withdrawn from the market is the Kidisle brand coffee makers, model KC101B, in black, white and gray presentations measuring 28 cm high and 15 cm wide, with which between 170 and 414 ml of hot and iced coffee are prepared.

However, according to reports, the appliance has an obstruction failure, which generates a buildup of hot water or steam that can be released without warning, causing injuries to its users.

Until now, 100 incidents have been reported with the use of this device and at least 27 of them resulted in serious injuries, first and second degree burns, requiring immediate removal of the coffee makers.

The coffee machines were sold between June 2024 and April 2026 on various web portals of retail stores such as Walmart, Amazon and eBay with a price of $49.

Given the serious incidents, the Consumer Product Safety Commission urged users to stop using the coffee makers and instead report it to the manufacturer Kidisle at [email protected] for a refund.
