A United States federal judge on Monday annulled the $100,000 fee imposed by President Donald Trump on new H-1B visas for highly skilled foreign workers, concluding that the measure constituted a tax that did not have authorization from Congress.
The decision was issued by US District Judge Leo Sorokin in Boston in response to a lawsuit filed by Democratic attorneys general from 20 states, who questioned the legality of the tax announced by Trump last September.
