The premiere of the film “The Odyssey”, directed by Christopher Nolan and starring Matt Damonis getting closer. Looking ahead to this date, Universal Images announced the start of the official pre-sale of tickets, without anticipating that High demand would lead to a wave of resale on platforms like eBay, where prices reach up to $10,000.

It was during the early hours of June 4 when ticket sales began for the day of the world premiere of “The Odyssey,” scheduled for July 17. However, The acquisition of tickets soon became a pitched battle.

According to information cited by Folk magazine, The digital platforms designated for the sale, including the AMC Theaters website, presented technical problems due to the high number of buyers.

This resulted in thousands of people not being able to purchase their tickets on the official site and looking for alternatives on resale pages such as eBay, where just 24 hours later there were already dozens of resale ads for the IMAX 70 mm screenings.

Some of these ads set their prices in quantities such as: $1,099 for two tickets to a performance at the AMC Lincoln Square complex in New York. While another user listed four tickets for the same screening for a total of $2,000.

However, on social networks The advertisement offering 12 tickets to a performance in the state of Georgia for $10,000 went viralreflecting the great level of expectation that the adaptation of Homer’s epic poem has generated among the audience.

And in addition to being one of Christopher Nolan’s most ambitious projects at the production level, it has a first-class cast.

This is composed of Matt Damon in the role of “Odysseus”, Tom Holland as “Telemachus”, as well as Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson and Lupita Nyong’o. Elliot Web page, Mia Goth, Charlize Theron, Benny Safdie and John Leguizamo also participate.

The film “The Odyssey” will make history by becoming the first feature film filmed entirely with IMAX cameras and will be released on July 17 in all movie theaters in the United States.
