The all-time scoring leader of the Mexican national team, Javier “Chicharito” Hernandezdid not want to be left behind to show his support for the Tricolor that will debut in the World Cup 2026 next June 11 against South Africa by posing on his social media account with the famous green shirt.
Hernández posed with the new Mexico shirtrecalling his fruitful time in the national team with his famous number 14 that led him to become the best scorer in the entire history of the tricolor team with 52 goals and a memory of the three World Cup tournaments he attended, South Africa 2010, Brazil 2014 and Russia 2018staying out of the 2024 World Cup due to disciplinary conflicts.
Chicharito invoked nostalgia in his publication by acknowledging that he had not worn the national shirt for a long time, where he always sought to raise the name of the Mexican team. in the competitions in which he had to participate, both in qualifying and World Cup tournaments.
“They gave me this shirt and I got a little piece of trash in my eye :’) I hadn’t worn it for a long time… “Interesting!” the team’s top scorer wrote in the publication.
Chicharito remains in shape and for that reason in the image he shared he looks like a player of the 26 called up by Vasco Aguirre for this World Cup, being recognized by social media users, despite the fact that he left the fields a long time ago after his failure to return to Chivas.
The former Manchester United, Exact Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, West Ham United, Sevilla and LA Galaxy playercontinues to be fondly remembered by his most loyal followers, despite the controversy he has generated with his publications on the web and where more than one has told him that his mentality is very different.
Messages like: “You deserve a farewell match with the national team,” “I miss you in the national team”, “How good the national team jersey looks on you”, flooded Chicharo’s publication.
Chicharito’s career in the Tricolor
Hernández’s legacy must be framed in success, both in Chivas, the Mexican national team and European teams, where he had a career to stand out at any level, while in the Mexico team played 109 games and scored 52 goals above Jared Borguetti, Enrique Borja and Cuauhtémoc Blanco, in addition to the three World Cups where he scored at least one goal in all three editions.
