Senator Alex Padilla (D-Calif.) considered that President Donald Trump’s proposal for Todd Bianche to be the attorney general of the United States is not the best option.
“As acting attorney general, Todd Blanche has proven to be more loyal to Donald Trump than to federal lawfrom supporting his discretionary ‘anti-militarization’ fund, to protecting the president and his family from tax audits, to perpetuating the cover-up of Epstein’s files,” Padilla stated in a statement.
Let’s be sure: The slush fund is suitable one portion of the next unsuitable scheme to grant Trump and his entire family colossal immunity from tax scrutiny.

Trump announced that he would proceed this Thursday to nominate Blanche, his former deepest lawyer, to permanently lead the United States Department of Justice (DOJ).

The president’s proposal was not well received by Senator Padilla, who considered that does not represent the best alternative for Americanss.
“We deserve an attorney general who puts the Constitution before political retaliation. Trump’s deepest former lawyer will never be fit to be a lawyer for the American people“added the California legislator.
This Wednesday night, during an event at the White House, Trump declared that he would give instructions this Thursday to Dan Scavino, deputy chief of staff.for Blanche to be appointed as permanent attorney general.

Blanche, 51, took interim charge of the United States Department of Justice following the firing of Pam Bondi in April.

Blanche’s proposal may be a new litmus test for President Trump on the Senatecontrolled by Republicans, who would have to approve the appointment.
Recently, the Senate He spoke out against the agreement, now discarded, to create a fund of $1.8 billion dollars for the victims of the supposed “instrumentalization” of the government.

For Blanche’s nomination to move forward, would require the almost unanimous support of Republicans in the Senatewhich they control by a narrow margin of fifty-three to 47.
Padilla has fought to hold Trump’s Justice Department accountable. Last month, Padilla sharply criticized the acting attorney general for establishing the president’s proposed discretionary fund.
Last year, Padilla voted against Blanche’s nomination as deputy attorney general of the United States and warned about the dangers of naming Trump allies who refuse to commit to compliance with key constitutional provisions.
