The new “live-action” version – that is, with real actors – of a classic from the 80s that we had already seen in comics and cartoons: “Masters of the Universe”. The series inspired by the 1991 film of the same name, now produced by Steven Spielberg and starring Robert De Niro and Gash Nolte: “Cape Fright”. The film in which Rick (Paul Rudd), a singer who has left his best years behind, and Danny (Gash Jonas), a boy band star who has lost inspiration, connect musically and improvise a late-night session that ends in disaster: “Power Ballad”. And the documentary in which Antonio Porowski explores popular tourist destinations with a different angle, in search of the essence of each place: “Easiest of the World with Antoni Porowski”.

Masters of the Universe

The highest-grossing theatrical release of the weekend will be the new “live-action” version – that is, with real actors – of a classic from the 80s that we had already seen in comics, Mattel dolls and cartoons. For many, watching “Masters of the Universe” will be a nostalgic trip to childhood. Director Travis Knight brings the legendary franchise back to the big screen. After being separated for 15 years, the Sword of Power guides Prince Adam (played by Nicholas Galitzine) back to Eternia, where he discovers that his home has been devastated under the evil rule of Skeletor (Jared Leto). To save his family and his world, Adam must join forces with his closest allies—Teela (Camila Mendes) and Duncan/Man-At-Palms (Idris Elba)—and embrace his true destiny as He-Man: the most powerful man in the universe. Almost two and a quarter hours of action with a cast that also includes Camila Mendes, Alison Brie, Morena Baccarin and Kristen Wiig as the voice of “Roboto.”

A storm is brewing for happily married lawyers Anna (Amy Adams) and Tom Bowden (Patrick Wilson) when Max Cady (a truly scary Javier Bardem), the notorious murderer whom they helped send to prison, is released from prison and seeks revenge.

Written and directed by John Carney (“Grunt Avenue”). Premiere in cinemas.
