Scott Pelley is fired from CBS after differences with the management of “60 Minutes”

CBS Recordsdata says “goodbye” to veteran news correspondent Scott Pelley after 36 years at the television network. The reason? The harsh criticism that the communicator issued about the new direction of the program in front of the entire non-public.

The news was confirmed by the television station itself, ensuring that the dismissal occurred with just cause: “Your contract with CBS is terminated for just cause, with immediate effect,” it was reported in a letter released by the company itself.

For his part, the show’s executive producer, Prick Bilton, stated in a statement: “Pelley’s antipathy toward the future of the program has been made clear and evident. And I’ve heard you.”
