Three members of a Hispanic family, spanning three generationswere discovered dead on the morning of Thursday, May 28, in a home in northern California.
A 28-year-old man was arrested for his alleged participation in the triple homicide that was committed in a house in the 1600 block of Monterey Avenuereported the Modesto Police Department (MPD), in Stanislaus County.
Fabiola González-Núñez, 23, was stabbed to death along with her mother, María Silva Núñez-Villalobos54 years old. A two-week-old baby, Fabiola’s son, who also had stab wounds, was rushed to a hospital, but later died.

The newborn was identified by his relatives like Mateo González.
A three-year-old boy, who survived the incidentwas also found inside the house, and was taken to a hospital for evaluation.
At the request of police, Child Protective Services they later took custody of the minor.

“During the initial response, officers quickly established a perimeter after information gathered at the scene led investigators to believe the suspect remained in the area“Modesto Police Department officials said in a statement.
“The Hostage Negotiation Team, the SWAT team and the Investigations Division of the Modesto Police Department came to provide assistance“added the MPD.
According to the MPD, a nearby school was temporarily closed. Subsequently, the students and non-public were transferred to another campus, where they were reunited with their families.

The MPD dedicated itself to the search for the person allegedly responsible for the attack, who was later identified as Joaquín Escoto.

According to the MPD, It is believed that Escoto lived in the house with the victimsis the father of the deceased baby and the 3-year-old child. He had a romantic relationship with Fabiola González-Núñez, mother of the two children. However, the exact nature of the relationship between Escoto and González-Núñez is not known.

“After his arrest, Escoto was booked into the Stanislaus County Jail on three counts of murder.aggravated special circumstances, use of a deadly weapon and an outstanding warrant from the Modesto Police Department related to a previous drunk driving case,” investigators reported in an updated statement.
After his arrest, Escoto remains in custody without bailand is expected to appear in court this week.
“In an instant, generations of love were taken from usmemories and dreams for the future,” said Marisa Jiménez, in a GoFundMe campaign organized to help the family obtain funds to pay for funeral services, as well as counseling and support services for the family.
