California primaries: Karen Bass and Xavier Becerra stand out in the electoral race

A few hours before the California primary day begins this Tuesday, June 2, Los Angeles gubernatorial and mayoral candidates held tours to call on residents to participate in the vote.

This weekend, About 13% of California’s 23 million eligible voters had mailed their ballots or had deposited them in official mailboxes, including 13% of Democrats and 18% of Republicans.

Since this weekend, In Los Angeles County, 524 additional voting centers opened for those residents who wait until the last days to return their ballots or to go in person to cast their vote directly.

Bass Achievements in Los Angeles

Mayor Karen Bass, who is seeking re-election for a second term, is carrying out an intense campaign across the city to mobilize the vote and highlight their achievements in combating homelessness, reducing crime and promoting film and television production.

This Sunday, Bass attended several churches in South Los Angelesheld a meeting with residents in Venice and served tacos at Pico Union.

Bass has mentioned that more housing is being built to attack the homeless crisis, a problem that she has reduced by 17.5% in her three years as mayorwith 42,000 units of affordable housing.

According to the results of the primary voting, the two candidates who receive the highest number of votes advance to the general elections in November.
