Allan Saint-Maximin is a remembered striker in Liga MX. The former Águilas del América player left through the back door of Mexican soccer. Maximin plays for Lens, but could return to Concacaf. The Frenchman is on the radar Charlotte FC, MLS club.
The former Newcastle United player had bad experiences in Mexican football. The French attacker only spent one season in Liga MX. However, Allan Saint-Maximin could have his revenge in Concacaf.
“Charlotte FC has maintained a record-long interest in Allan Saint-Maximin and has identified him as the replacement for Wilfried Zaha. This follows the impasse in negotiations between Charlotte FC and Zaha several weeks ago,” Topbin90 reported.
In February 2026, Allan Saint-Maximin left Mexican football to join to Lens of the first division of French football. Lens finished second in Ligue 1 and won the French Cup. Maximin played 13 games in the season in which he was able to contribute 4 goals and 3 assists.
“According to close sources, Charlotte FC is in advanced negotiations to sign French winger Allan Saint-Maximin. “While talks have progressed significantly between all parties, the deal has not yet been finalized as some details remain to be negotiated in the final phase of the contract,” the report added.
Allan Saint-Maximin only signed with RC Lens until the end of the season. That is to say, In the coming days Maximin will become a free agent footballer. This is an ideal condition for Charlotte to try to convince the French striker.
Maximin in the MX League
In August 2025 Allan Saint-Maximin left Al Ahli to wear the colors of the Águilas del América. The 29-year-old forward could only play 16 matches in the campaign (all for the local tournament).
In just over 800 minutes on the field, Allan Saint-Maximin only contributed 3 goals and gave 2 assists. The French forward was forced to play in Liga MX. Although he had some extra-sporting problems, Maximin was grateful for the opportunity he was given in the “Nido”.
