A Pennsylvania woman has been charged with first-degree murder after allegedly shooting her ex-girlfriend’s new partner in the parking lot of a Lowe’s store. The attack occurred in front of the woman’s 9-year-old daughter, according to court documents.

Taneesha Lynn Teague, 32, faces charges of first-degree murder, manslaughter, aggravated assault and multiple counts of endangering others, Law&Crime reported.

The victim was identified as Salim Basalat, 36 years old.

The incident occurred Monday morning at a Lowe’s store located on Glimcher Boulevard in Hermitage, a city in northwestern Pennsylvania.

The accused would have followed his ex-girlfriend

According to court documents cited by local media, Teague followed his ex-girlfriend and her daughter to the business establishment.

Although both women had ended their relationship about a month earlier, they still shared the same home, according to the investigation.

The defendant’s ex-girlfriend had gone to the location to meet with Basalat, a situation that allegedly bothered Teague.

Investigators noted that when the defendant arrived at the parking lot, Basalat was talking next to her vehicle with the woman and the 9-year-old girl.

Authorities say Teague approached the group and opened fire, hitting Basalat in the stomach and one of his arms.

During the 911 call, a woman was reportedly heard warning another person to move or she would also die.

After the attack, the accused fled the scene.

Police later found Basalat injured and took him to a nearby hospital, where he died Tuesday morning.

The suspect surrendered to the police

Investigators located a white Nissan pickup truck linked to Teague in the parking lot of a nearby restaurant.

The Hermitage Police Department publicly announced that the woman was wanted by authorities, after which she turned herself in on Tuesday.

So far, authorities have not reported whether the defendant’s ex-girlfriend or the minor were injured during the shooting.

The preliminary hearing in the case was scheduled for this Wednesday.
