An intense search unfolds in Utah after two little brothers disappeared along with their father, who failed to attend a scheduled custody exchange over the weekend.
Authorities issued an Amber Alert to locate one-year-old Will Richman and Wesley Richman, a few-month-old baby, after their father, Dane Stephen Richman, 46, disappeared with them, ABC4 reported.
Police fear for the safety of minors
The alert was activated after Dane Stephen Richman did not show up for a custody exchange scheduled for Saturday in Saratoga Springs.
Researchers pointed out that There are serious concerns about the father’s emotional state and they warned that the minors could face “imminent danger of serious bodily harm or death.”
According to authorities, the man was going through severe depression, financial problems and had allegedly abandoned his home before disappearing with the children.
The children’s aunt, Katie Walters, explained that the family began to suspect something was wrong after the children’s mother, Lizzie Tomich, discovered that her husband had fired his lawyer and stopped answering calls.
Police later went to the man’s home to conduct a welfare check and found a moving truck leaving the property.
Relatives assured that Dane Stephen Richman had begun giving away belongings to neighbors and had recently left his job.
They believe he may have left Utah.
Investigators suspect that the man may have left the state with the minors.
Authorities are looking for a black 2025 Toyota Camry vehicle with Utah license plate A561HL, although they warned it could also have temporary plates.
Police agencies from different areas of Utah are participating in the search and asked residents and business owners to report any possible sightings.
Lizzie Tomich posted a message on social media pleading for help locating her children.
“They are my world,” the mother wrote in a publication distributed as the search continues.
For its part, Katie Walters directly asked the father to seek help and return to the minors safely.
Authorities have not publicly revealed where they believe the family may have gone.
