Just a few weeks after knowing the outcome of the third season of the series “Euphoria”, the actress Sydney Sweeney spoke out about the criticism that has rained down on her on social media as a result of the intimate scenes and nudity brought to the screen with her character “Cassie Howard.”

In an interview with “W Magazine”, the protagonist of stories such as “Americana” and “The Housemaid” assured that far from feeling uncomfortable with the “bawdy” scenes or nakedness in front of the screen, it is an opportunity to demonstrate her professionalism.

According to her testimony, this type of representation on screen is a key part of her character’s development: “I don’t get nervous with the scenes in which I appear naked. I think the female body is something very powerful (…) I’m telling my character’s story, so I have a responsibility to do it right and do whatever it takes.“he stated.

Likewise, the 28-year-old star assured that the HBO production never created an uncomfortable atmosphere in the filming of these scenes. On the contrary, It became a safe space in which their suggestions were welcomed and they even contributed to the elimination of scenes that they did not consider necessary.

This is not the first time that Sydney Sweeney has taken a forceful stance against criticism of her performances. In a talk given to The Unbiased, the famous woman criticized “the double factual” that exists within the industry when it comes to intimate scenes starring women.

“There is a stigma against actresses who get naked on screen. When a guy has a sex scene or shows off his body, he keeps winning awards and receiving praise. But when a girl does it, it’s completely different“He noted months ago.

For this reason, the famous woman prefers to ignore the negativity and focus on the experiences she accumulates at the acting level: “I’m very proud of my work in ‘Euphoria’. I think it was a great performance. But no one talks about it because I got naked,” she lamented.
