The spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Esmail Baghaei stated that Tehran is weighing a new US proposal to end the waramidst Donald Trump’s threats to for Iran to give the “correct answers” to end the war that began on February 28.
“The exchange of messages has taken place in several rounds, and we have received the opinions of the American side, which we are currently analyzing”said the diplomat, quoted by the media Nournews.
Baghaei indicated that the two sides are working on a 14-point text that Iran presented several weeks ago, in search of a formula that satisfies both countries.
This latest version of the text would have been brought to Tehran by the Minister of the Interior of Pakistan, Mohsin Naqvi, who arrived in the Iranian capital on Tuesday, on his second trip to the Islamic Republic in less than a week.
According to Iranian media, Tehran has asked Washington to end the war on all fronts, including Lebanon, the lifting of sanctions, the release of blocked Iranian assets, compensation for war damage, the recognition of its sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz and postponing negotiations on its nuclear program until later.
