In the California primary elections on June 2, Democrats Paul Bowers, Juan Camacho, Wendy Carrillo, Sara Hernandez, Maebe Pudlo, Sarah Rascón, and Republicans Claudia Agraz and Sang Masog are running for the position of state senator for the 26th district.
The position is vacant.
The 26th covers, among others, East Los Angeles, Boyle Heights, Los Feliz, Highland Park, Koreatown, Echo Park, Downtown LA (DTLA) and Vernon.
La Opinion considers that due to her intensive work for the community and her personal example, Sara Hernández is the best candidate and calls on its readers in the district to vote for her.

Sara Hernández is a symbol of the new leadership of the Latino community, of those who will guide it to face the attacks and crises that are coming.
