Those who had been closely following the price of Tesla Mannequin Y in the United States This week they found an unexpected development. The brand modified the value of several configurations of the most established electric SUV in its catalog and, although not all versions were affected, some increases are already reflected in the official configurator.

The update corresponds to Mannequin Y 2027 and marks the first relevant adjustment for this vehicle in quite some time. tesla decided to keep the prices of the most accessible variants intact, but applied increases in the top charge finishes and in the version Efficiencywhich now cost more than just a few days ago.

The movement is not accompanied by new functions, mechanical changes or autonomy improvements, something that will surely make noise among potential buyers who were waiting for some type of evolution to justify the increase.
The versions that increased in price
Tesla applied specific increases in three specific configurations of the Mannequin Y 2027. Top charge versions with rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive received an increase of $1,000 dollars each one, while the Mannequin Y Efficiency is up $500.
On the other hand, the entry options remain exactly the same and continue to be the most economical gateway to the American firm’s electric SUV.
This is how the updated price list looked in the United States before tax incentives:
- Base Mannequin Y RWD: $41,630.
- Mannequin AND base AWD: $43,630.
- Mannequin Y Top charge RWD: $47,630.
- Mannequin Y Top charge AWD: $51,630.
- Mannequin AND Efficiency: $59,630 dollars.
Some additional costs still have to be added to these figures. Tesla maintains the non-refundable order fee of $250 dollars and offers the optional towing package for $1,000 dollars. Additionally, the FSD supervised autonomous driving system remains available via monthly subscription for $99 dollars.
There are no changes in autonomy or equipment
One of the details that stands out the most is that the increase is not accompanied by technical improvements. The specifications of the Mannequin Y 2027 They remain identical to those of the previous year, both in autonomy and in overall performance and equipment.
That means a buyer will pay more money for the exact same vehicle in affected versions. Tesla also did not publicly explain what motivated this adjustment, a fairly common practice for the company when it makes price changes to its models.
The Mannequin Y remains key for Tesla
The change also reflects the importance of Mannequin Y within the commercial strategy of Tesla in the United States. It is currently the only SUV that the brand sells in that market and continues to be one of the best-selling electric vehicles in the country.
For this reason, any variation in its price generates immediate repercussions between consumers and competitors. Furthermore, the fact that Tesla had kept values stable for nearly two years was already something unusual in an industry marked by the constant increase in costs and raw materials.
Now it will be necessary to see if these new prices affect the sales rate of the Mannequin Y or if demand for the electric SUV remains just as solid despite the increase.
