Women’s soccer in Mexico is one of the great powers in the region. Between Conmebol and Concacaf, the Liga MX Femenil is one of the best structured and exposed. Mikel Arriolacommissioner of the Mexican Football Federation (FMF), highlighted the growth of this championship.

The last of Clausura 2026 was between Rayadas de Monterrey and the Águilas del América. The first leg was a short victory for the Regio team by 1-0; but on the way back, The American team managed to overcome the series with a crushing 3-0 at home.

We had 35,000 attendees in the first leg between Monterrey and América Femenil and 2 million people watched it streaming“, highlighted Mikel Arriola.

At the Ordinary Assembly of 2026, some records from 2025 were released. The 18 Mexican soccer clubs were able to see data from the Aztec soccer exhibition. The 2025 matches reached more than 67 million viewers. These records put the Liga MX Femenil above tournaments in power countries such as Germany, England and the United States.

There is a very big projection going forward, we already have the league on open TV, streaming and social networks“, highlighted the leader.

The 2025 Apertura tournament achieved a general reach of 37.5 million viewers. In Clausura 2025 the numbers dropped to 30.3 million viewersbut this did not prevent the record figure in the stability.

One of the main symptoms that reflects the growth of Mexican women’s soccer is the arrival of foreign soccer players to the Aztec tournament. More and more players see Mexico as a country where they can enhance their football development. “Today we have 32 countries represented in the Liga MX Femenil, something that is incredible. The teams are getting better and better,” added Mikel Arriola.
