A 41-year-old woman was murdered early Sunday morning in an apartment in the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York.in a case that shocked residents of the area.
According to police sources cited by the Novel York Put up, agents went to a home located near the intersection of Cooper Boulevard and Irving Avenue after receiving reports of an assault in progress.
When they arrived at the scene, officers heard a woman desperately screaming that she was being stabbed, sources said.
Police found a “horrific” scene
Neighbors claimed to have heard loud screams and breaking glass minutes before the authorities arrived.
“I heard screams and breaking glass. Five minutes later the police arrived,” one resident told the Novel York Put up.
Sources indicated that the agents initially tried to enter through the main door of the apartment, but finally had to enter through a back window.
Inside the house They found the victim lying on the living room floor with multiple stab wounds and a fatal wound to the throat.
Suspect was waiting sitting on a couch
According to the authorities, The alleged attacker was sitting calmly on a nearby couch when the police burst into the apartment.
The man was arrested at the scene, although formal charges had not yet been filed against him as of Sunday night.
Paramedics transported the woman in critical condition to Brookdale Clinic, where she was later pronounced dead.
Alyssa, a neighbor on the upper floor, said she helped the officers by opening the door to the building and then watched as emergency crews took the victim out on a stretcher.
“It wasn’t good. There was a lot of blood. It was on his body,” he declared.
He also described the moment the suspect was escorted from the property.
“I was sitting on the first step, barefoot. Surrounded by police,” he said.
Police sources indicated that The detained man had at least 20 criminal records, including cases of assault, robbery and home invasion.
In addition, some sources indicated that the couple had been involved in previous domestic incidents.
Authorities continue to investigate the crime.
