Despite the opposition generated towards his lavish project, President Donald Trump revealed the tentative date on which he intends to inaugurate the White House Ballroom.
Since March of last year, the seventy-nine-year-old Republican announced that he was contemplating modifying the appearance of the official residence with the construction of a ballroom very much in the style of his mansion in Mar-a-Lago, Florida.
From that moment on, Trump gave more shape to his project until ordering its construction in August, when he indicated that the ballroom would involve an investment of $200 million dollars, as it would consist of 90,000 square feet taken from the East Wing of the White House.
However, the magnitude of the project escalated and, in less than a year, there is talk that its cost could double, even leaving open the possibility of it being covered with taxpayer money, which was never considered, since the initial idea was to obtain the necessary resources from donations from private companies.
Apart from this, A group of defenders of historical and architectural heritage, as well as some experts in government ethics, have spoken out against the modifications made to the White House.which meant that the East Wing of the building was demolished.

Arguing that the plans had not been subject to public consultation, Nationwide Belief for Ancient Preservation sued to stop construction.
The work also does not have the approval of the National Capital Planning Commission (NCPC), a situation that forced a federal judge to issue a ruling to temporarily block excavations and construction.
Nevertheless, Trump and his team have overcome these inconveniences while continuing to justify the need to have a majestic venue where numerous international delegations can be received. under strict security control.
Continuing with his previous idea, the New York magnate published a message on the Truth Social platform making it clear that, during the stretch of his second term, the White House Ballroom will be ready to hold major events.
“China has a ballroom, and America should have it too! It’s under construction, ahead of schedule, and will be the best facility of its kind in the entire United States. Thank you for all the support I have received to start this project. The inauguration is scheduled for September 2028“, wrote.
