The Cleveland Clinic had to intervene to stop a new scandal revolving around Robert Francis Kennedy Jr.., Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS), about whom it was mentioned that he allegedly used a robotic arm to participate in a surgery with the aim of testing the advancement of technology applied in medicine.
The controversy arose from a note published by KFF Nicely Being Recordsdata, which described how the Washington lawyer confirmed that, using a robotic arm, it was possible to remotely intervene on a patient undergoing cardiac surgery.
Based on the information disclosed, it was assumed that, for a few seconds, Kennedy Jr. had participated in the operation as part of a tour carried out at the Cleveland Clinic based in Ohio.
“Briefly tested the programming console with a real patient in the room, with the stomach open for cardiac surgery,” the post described. KFF Nicely Being Recordsdata.
Amanda Seitz, a reporter for said media specialized in health issues and who was in charge of accompanying the head of the HHS during his visit to the medical institution, clarified that the non-public responsible prohibited the use of cameras and mobile phones, which prevented capturing any images in this regard.
“Kennedy sat next to a surgeon at the machine that controls the robotic hands. The Cleveland Clinic did not allow anyone to take photos or videos in the operating room,” he wrote on the X platform, formerly known as Twitter.

When Kennedy Jr.’s alleged intervention in cardiac surgery became known, comments began to emerge from several people severely criticizing the fact of putting a patient’s life at risk by allowing the former Democrat to enter his body under the argument of experimenting with how a robotic arm works in an operating room.
Given this situation, A spokesperson for the Cleveland Clinic issued a statement to the newspaper. The Hill where the participation of the head of the HHS in the aforementioned surgery is ruled out.
“He briefly observed robotic cardiac surgery as part of a larger visit, which included a demonstration with a disconnected teaching console that could not perform any surgical functions. He had no role in the patient’s care,” part of the letter states.
