James David Vance, US vice president, avoided talking about Marco Rubio, secretary of state, as a possible electoral rival, but above all about their intention to run for the White House in 2028.
As public support for Donald Trump’s work at the head of the government loses strength, speculation begins about who will be the Republican who will run with the aim of replacing him at the end of his administration.
Although the deck of candidates is broad, JD Vance and Marco Rubio seem to have the lead, or at least that’s how the New York tycoon intends to make it seem.
Earlier this week, during an event held at the White House, Trump once again mentioned that both Republicans would form an “ideal team,” this in reference to presenting themselves as the conservative ticket in the next presidential elections.
“That does not mean that they have my support under any circumstances. I think he sounds like a candidate for the presidency and a candidate for the vice presidency,” he indicated without specifying who would lead the way in a hypothetical tandem nomination.

When questioned about it, JD Vance acknowledged that the topic of his possible application is uncomfortable for him, as he considers it out of time.
“There are few topics I would like to talk less about than the office I am going to run for in a few years, when I am enjoying my job and trying to do well in the position for which the American people already elected me,” he said.
At the insistence of the press, the Ohio politician claimed to have an excellent relationship with Marco Rubio, which he would not like to alter based on an untimely comment, since he considers it more convenient to dedicate himself fully to carrying out the national project proposed by President Trump.
“I adore Marco. I think he’s a great Secretary of State. He’s become a very, very dear friend, but I think we’re both very focused on getting the business of the American people done right now.
If I were the American people, there are few things I would hate more than a person who has only been in office for a year and a half and is already looking for a position in two and a half years.. Let’s do a good job now. We are doing it, we just have to continue like this,” he said.
