The MV Hondius cruise ship leaves Tenerife, Spain, after evacuating all passengers

The MV Hondius cruise ship, affected by a hantavirus outbreak, the disembarkation of the last 28 passengers from the port of Granadilla, in Tenerife, Spain, has concluded.

The members of this last group went directly to the dock, after the ship had to be docked due to adverse weather conditions.

The boat, which has 26 crew members, will now take about five days to reach Rotterdam, in the Netherlands, according to its owner Oceanwide Expeditions.

Infected French woman was admitted to intensive care

A total of 94 passengers from the cruise disembarked this Sunday to take different flights to their places of origin, where they are under medical supervision and subject to quarantines of different characteristics decided in each country.

Besides, A woman who was among the five French people who were evacuated this Sunday presented symptoms of hantavirus during the flight and tested positive in a take a look at.

Her condition worsened overnight and she was admitted to intensive care in Paris and is “stable,” according to French Prime Minister Sébastian Lecornu.
