Los Angeles Police investigate home invasion with children present

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) is on the trail of two alleged thieves who broke into an inhabited residence this Sunday night in the Beverly Grove neighborhood.

According to the LAPD, at approximately 10:45 p.m., officers responded to a call reporting the break-in at a home in the 8200 block of Oakwood Avenue.

The KNN video news service reported that a babysitter and two small children were inside the house at the time one of the suspects broke through a kitchen window.

Without confirming the details, An LAPD spokesperson said the worker and the children They were in the house when the raid occurred.

The spokesperson mentioned that, apparently, An alarm scared away the thieves, who escaped in a late-model Kia car.. Apparently, the thugs did not steal any objects during the raid.

The suspects were described only as two men wearing black hoodies.

On Friday, May 8, LAPD officers responded to a similar incident in the Studio City area, a only about eight miles (12.8 kilometers) away from Beverly Grove.

In the Studio City incident, two men were caught on a surveillance camera at the time when a property was raided while its residents were away.

A neighbor received a text message from the owner to notify him of the break-in, so he confronted the alleged thieveswho also escaped in a late model white Kia car.

The Studio City resident managed to take some photographs of the vehicle in which the suspects escaped, even though he was sprayed with a substance that irritated his skinwhich is believed to be bear pepper fuel.

LAPD officers are investigating to determine if the incidents in Beverly Grove and Studio City may have been committed by the same suspects.
