The 2026 NBA Draft lottery left a result that can modify the future of several franchises. The Washington Wizards They obtained the first overall selection and were in a privileged position to choose one of the main figures of a generation that already generates enormous expectations within the league.

The draw held this May 10 defined the order of the first 14 choices of the next draft and confirmed Utah Jazz, Memphis Grizzlies and Chicago Bulls as the teams that will complete the top four.

According to the Mock Draft published by SB Nation, the important candidate to be chosen in first place is AJ Dybantsa, BYU forward. The analysis highlights his ability to create offense, attack the rim and resolve individual situations thanks to his combination of size, power and ball handling. The 2.06 meter player appears as one of the most sought-after prospects in recent years.

Utah would choose Darryn Peterson, Kansas guard, at second position, while Memphis would target Cameron Boozer, Duke power forward. Chicago, for its part, appears linked with Caleb Wilson, another forward with an athletic profile and defensive projection.

Karim López appears among the big names in the Draft

One of the aspects that caught the most attention in the preliminary screenings was the presence of the Mexican Karim Lopez among the lottery selections. The player, who played this season for the Contemporary Zealand Breakers of the Australian NBL league, was ranked 13th by SB Nation, belonging to the Miami Heat.

López has closely followed the NBA radar for several years thanks to his physical condition and offensive versatility. The report highlights his ability to handle the ball as a large forward, in addition to his scoring potential and ability to contribute defensively.

The Mexican showed important flashes during his experience in Oceania, especially attacking towards the rim and collaborating on the rebound. He was also recognized for generating positive defensive actions in different sectors of the field.

However, the report points out aspects that must still be developed before reaching the NBA. Among them are outside shooting and decision making. Lopez shot 32.2% on three-pointers during the season and recorded 57 assists against 46 turnovers.
