Karen Bass announced that will not participate in a forum between the candidates for mayor of Los Angeles, scheduled for this Wednesday, May 13 on the Fox network, according to a statement released by the League of Women Voters of Greater Los Angeles and the Pat Brown Institute for Public Affairs.
The organizers assured that the actual mayor had accepted the invitation and signed the papers confirming her attendance at the forumwhich aims to give voters the opportunity to hear from contenders to lead the city “during a period of extraordinary challenges.”
It is expected that at the meeting Councilor Nithya Raman, businessman Adam Miller and activist Rae Huang participate. Actuality Level to presenter Spencer Pratt had also been invited, but subsequently declined due to a scheduling conflict.

“Mayor Bass’s retirement is disappointing“, the League of Women Voters and the Pat Brown Institute jointly stated in a statement posted on social media.
“Public forums like this are a classic pillar of democratic accountability. These forums give voters the opportunity to hear from candidates share their points of view, answer questions and discuss the problems that affect Los Angeles,” they added.

The promoters of the meeting assured that they have a long history as co-sponsors of candidate forums, with the purpose of be fair, nonpartisan, substantive, and focused on the issues that matter most to voters.
“We remain committed to provide voters with meaningful opportunities to interact with those seeking public office“, reiterated the organizations promoting the forum between candidates for mayor of Los Angeles.
