Metro Los Angeles inaugurates first stage of the D Line Extension

Metro Los Angeles has everything ready to inaugurate Section 1 of the D Line Extension, scheduled for 12:30 pm this Friday, May 8, with train service at three new stations: Wilshire/La Brea, Wilshire/Fairfax and Wilshire/La Cienega.

In a statement, Metro Los Angeles reported that on Friday, May 8, between 12:30 pm and 4:00 pm, community celebrations titled “Discovery Runs Deep” will take place at each of the three new stations, as well as at Wilshire/Western.

To celebrate the occasion, Metro Los Angeles train, bus, bike share and Metro Micro services, They will be free from 4:00 am on Friday, May 8 until 3:00 am on Monday, May 11.

For now, Only Section 1 of the Line D Extension has been inaugurated. Section 2 will reach downtown Beverly Hills and Century City; while Section 3 will reach Westwood Village, with a station next to the West Los Angeles Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Metro Los Angeles is scheduled to inaugurate sections 2 and 3 in 2027.
