The businessman and founder of the chain cnn, Ted Turner, died this Wednesday at the age of 87as revealed in a press release released by Turner Enterprises. According to the announcement, the media visionary was surrounded by his family until his last moments.
“Ted was an extremely committed leader, fearless, brave and always willing to trust his intuition and his own judgment.”CNN President and CEO Worth Thompson said in a statement.
“He was and always will be the soul of CNN. Ted is the giant on whose shoulders we stand, and today we will all take a moment to recognize him and his impact on our lives and the world”he stressed.
Although the cause of his death has not been revealed, in early 2025, Ted Turner was hospitalized after developing pneumonia from which he recovered in a rehabilitation center.

Originally from Ohio and nicknamed “The Mouth of the South” for his frank communication, Ted Turner managed to build a media empire that made the first “cable superstation” available to the public.
Thanks to his business vision in the communication sector, The magnate turned the Turner Broadcasting System into a giant, launching channels such as TBS, TNT, Comic strip Network and Turner Traditional Motion photos.
