The transfer market in Brazil added a high-impact movement with the arrival of Givanildo Vieira de Sousaknown as hulkto the Fluminense. The 40-year-old striker was presented as the main reinforcement of the Rio club for the 2026 season, after putting end to his relationship with Atlético Mineiroa team in which he established himself as one of its recent figures.

The agreement between both institutions allowed the transfer to be carried out without cost for federative rights, as reported by the Rio de Janeiro club itself. As part of the agreement, The attacker will sign a contract until December 2027which marks a new chapter in his extensive professional career.
Hulk had returned to Brazilian football in 2021 after 15 years abroad, a period in which he defended shirts like those of the Porto in Portugal and Zenit in Russia. His departure from Atlético Mineiro was finalized after negotiations that had been developing since January, despite the club’s initial resistance to parting with one of its main offensive references.
A recent legacy and a new challenge in Rio
During his time at Atlético Mineiro, Hulk accumulated outstanding figures. In five seasons he played 311 games and scored 140 goals, becoming one of the team’s greatest contemporary idols. In that period he also won several titles: the Brazilian Championship in 2021, the Brazil slay Cup in the same year, the Brazil slay Super Cup in 2022 and five consecutive state championships between 2021 and 2025.
Fluminense hopes to integrate the forward into training next week, although his official debut will have to wait. The tournament regulations prevent immediate registration, so you will only be able to play after the opening of the mid-year market, once the 2026 World Cup has concluded.
