The president of the United States, Donald Trump, said this Wednesday that if Iran accepts the agreed conditions for peace it will end military operations and the naval blockade against the Islamic republic, but threatened with greater intensity attacks if Tehran does not accept the pact.
Trump stated on his Truth Social network that “if Iran agrees to comply with what was agreed, which is, perhaps, a big assumption, the now legendary Operation Epic Fury will come to an end, and the highly effective blockade will allow the Strait of Hormuz to be open to everyone, including Iran.”
“If they do not accept, the bombings will begin and, unfortunately, they will be of a much higher level and intensity than before.“said the president.
Trump’s warnings coincide with reports from Axios that Washington would be awaiting an Iranian response in the next forty-eight hours on several key points of a proposal to agree on a definitive end to the conflict and establish a framework for broader negotiations on the Persian country’s nuclear program.
According to White House officials cited by the portal, This is the moment in which both sides have been closest to reaching an agreement since the start of the war launched by the United States and Israel on February 28.

Both parties are in an indefinite ceasefire to advance negotiations that until now remained stalled.
The one-page memo would include Tehran’s commitment to a moratorium on nuclear enrichment, the lifting of sanctions by the United States and the release of billions of dollars in frozen Iranian funds, along with the opening of transit through the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump announced the day before the suspension, at the request of Pakistan, of the military operation that began this Monday to facilitate traffic through the strategic crude oil and merchandise route, interrupted by Iran in retaliation for the war.
According to US officials, The president’s decision was based on the progress made in the Islamabad-mediated negotiations..
The United States maintains the naval blockade of Iranian ports and coasts, through which they have already interrupted the passage of some 50 ships, according to figures from the US Central Command. EFE
