A violent incident recorded during the early hours of the morning disturbed the tranquility in the surroundings of the Busch Stadiumin St. Louis, hours after a game of Major Leagues. A 27-year-old man dies after being stabbed in the middle of a fight occurred outside the sports venue.
According to local police, the events were reported shortly before 3:00 a.m. on Monday, when agents went to an area near the stadium after receiving an alert. At the scene they found the victim with serious injuries. The alleged attacker, a 65-year-old man, was detained by authorities While the investigation continues, he reported AP.
Both involved were identified as workers hired for cleaning tasks after the games, with no direct employment relationship with the St. Louis Cardinals organization. “This could have happened anywhere, but what happened tonight was a dispute between two people. Unfortunately, it happened at a landmark in St. Louis,” said police spokesman Mitch McCoy.

Ongoing investigation and team stance
The Cardinals team also spoke out about what happened, noting that It was an “isolated altercation” between inner most external who was on the premises during the night.
“We are aware of an isolated altercation that occurred between two individuals hired at the location during the early hours of Monday morning,” the organization said in a statement. “St. Louis Metropolitan Police were dispatched to investigate and our security team is cooperating with the department in their investigation. The safety of our fans, guests and employees remains our top priority and we are confident that our security measures at the stadium were not compromised at all last night.”
The incident occurred after the match played on Sunday, in which The Cardinals fell 4-1 to the Los Angeles Dodgersclosing a series of three games. Despite what happened, the team’s schedule was not modified and the game scheduled for Monday against the Milwaukee Brewers took place as planned.
Authorities continue to gather information to clarify what happened, while the case remains under investigation.
