After forty eight hours of being reported missing,Barry Christian, conservative candidate for District 38 in western Oklahoma, was found dead inside a van that remained abandoned in a rural area.
Through a statement, The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation revealed that the dark gray 2024 Ram vehicle that the state senator hopeful used to drive was found near Highway 30, south of Erick.
The unit was located by patrol along a ravine near the Sandy Sanders Wildlife Management Area.
Upon approaching to check the vehicle, a police officer noticed that Inside was a body whose identity could later be identified under the name of Barry Christian..
In the report from the authorities it was reported that a large campaign poster promoting the Republican towards the Senate remained lying on a meadow several meters away as if someone had intentionally thrown it before leaving the area.
It should be noted that, since Tuesday afternoon, Christian had been reported missing after not showing up for a scheduled meeting or responding to calls made to his mobile number.
The Harmon County Sheriff’s Office said the Republican was last seen driving his truck.
Brooklyn Christian, daughter of the politician in question, acknowledged in an interview with some members of the local press that she felt deeply devastated by the loss of her father and asked to respect the grief that her family is going through.
“Please pray for our family and friends. Our world is upside down right now. We still don’t know for sure everything that happened, so I ask that you act with compassion and treat my father’s legacy with dignity.
We are extremely grateful to everyone who collaborated in the search and to all the media that disseminated their information. “I know that his passing will leave many people devastated,” he said.
The causes of the death of the 54-year-old candidate are currently unknown.
