Marjorie Taylor Greene, former representative from Georgia, accused her former party colleague Mike Lawler, congressman from New York, of making fun of President Donald Trump behind his back.
Among the most controversial revelations of her interview with television host Tucker Carlson, the conservative who resigned her seat at the start of the year to avoid pressure from the nation’s president, He described Mike Lawler as a character who has been ranting for years against the New York magnate and the policies promoted from the White House.
“He hated Donald Trump, he made fun of him constantly, he imitated him, he laughed at his voice,” he recalled.
In fact, Taylor Greene acknowledged that she was constantly bothered for supporting Trump and even considered him a closet Democrat.
“He used to attack me, make fun of me, come find me on the House floor and mock me for supporting Donald Trump. This was in the four years before he was re-elected president in 2024.
And his skills… I was like, ‘This guy is literally one of the worst… well, I would say he’s the worst, but Randy Fine is really the worst. “Mike Lawler skills incredibly… I thought he was a Democrat,” he stressed.

Through platform X, formerly known as Twitter, Lawler’s office responded to Taylor Greene’s comments, but chose to attack Tucker Carlson.
“Tucker Carlson is an idiot. These scammers are really brutalizing America with one absurd argument after another,” one message states.
In fact, Marjorie Taylor Greene’s accusation against the 39-year-old conservative contradicts the history that for years has placed him as one of the characters most willing to help Donald Trump boost his campaigns in search of making him president.
In 2016, Lawler was a delegate to the Republican National Convention and through his consulting firm Checkmate Programs he worked on a strategy to reinforce his image among the electorate, so profiling him as one of his detractors is somewhat far-fetched.
However, in recent months, some Republicans seem not to want to continue under his tutelage and hence some declines to seek re-election either in the House of Representatives or in the Senate.
