The accusation presented by United States authorities against the governor of Sinaloa, Ruben Rocha Moyanot only points out alleged links to drug trafficking, but also reveals an alleged “payroll” of the Sinaloa Cartel made up of officials from different levels.
The document presented includes records of periodic payments to public servants, detailing aliases, positions and amounts that were allegedly delivered by the legal organization as part of a network of institutional corruption.
According to the information released, this “criminal roster” would be linked mainly to security commanders and justice officials in Sinaloa, who they would have received bribes in exchange for protectioninformation leakage and facilities for drug trafficking.
Among the statements, it is mentioned that some officials would have received monthly payments of thousands of dollarswhich would evidence a systematic scheme of collaboration with the legal group, particularly with the faction known as Los Chapitos.
These revelations are part of a broader accusation presented in a New York court, where the governor of Sinaloa and other officials are also accused of conspiring to traffic drugs to the United States, allegedly in exchange for political support and bribes.
The case has generated political and diplomatic repercussionsas it is a direct accusation against a sitting governor, something unusual in investigations of this type.
For his part, Rocha Moya has categorically rejected the accusations, describing them as false and ensuring that they are unfounded.
