The Argentinian Mauricio Pochettino, accurate coach of the soccer team USAinsisted on his desire to return to training in England “one day”.
The coach, with a past at Southampton, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea, was interviewed on the podcast ‘The Overlap’, where he spoke about his future as a coach and was asked if he would like to return to England.
“Someday, yes because I really like England”said Murphy’s coach (province of Santa Fe). “I think that because of my profile, both human and as a coach, The Premier League suits me very well.”
Pochettino signed as head of the American team in 2024 and has a contract until after the next World Cup, where his team has been drawn with Paraguay, Australia and Türkiye and their expectations are high for being one of the three hosts – along with Mexico and Canada.
However, the last preparatory friendlies, against Belgium (2-5) and Portugal (0-2), they have been unconvincing.
In addition to his future, Pochettino spoke about the current situation of Tottenham Hotspur, which is two points away from safety with four games left to play.
“I love Tottenham, it is part of my non-public life and my life as a coach. It is very sad what is happening because I know the people who are suffering there, within the club and also the fans. It’s hard to accept that this is happening.“said the former French League, Cup and Super Cup champion with PSG.
