The president of the United States, Donald Trump, stated this Tuesday that Iran has informed him that it is in a “state of collapse” and that, while they resolve their leadership problems, they want Washington to reopen the Strait of Hormuz “as soon as possible.”
“Iran has just informed us that they are in a ‘state of collapse’. They want us to ‘open the Strait of Hormuz’ as soon as possible, while they try to resolve their leadership situation (which I think they will manage to do!),” Trump wrote on his Truth Social network.
The president, who has previously commented on a division between “moderates” and “radicals” in the Iranian leadership, did not specify who would have sent the communication to the United States.
The president’s message coincides with reports of his dissatisfaction with Tehran’s new procedure to unblock the peace talks and reopen the strategic oil and merchandise route, postponing the dialogue on the Iranian nuclear program.

According to sources with knowledge of what was discussed in the meeting the day before between Trump and his National Security advisors, The Republican would have given to understand that he is not inclined to accept the procedurewhich also urges Washington to lift the naval blockade imposed on the Iranian coast, CNN reports.
The reopening of the strategic route, through which 20% of the world’s crude oil passed, without addressing guarantees that Iran unable to obtain a nuclear weapon or the future of its enriched uranium reserves, may not fit Trump’s aspirations to sell the deal as a victory, the sources warned.
Last week, Trump extended the ceasefire with Tehran indefinitely to promote a dialogue that is currently stalled after the US president himself canceled the trip of his envoys to Pakistan for a second round of talks with the Iranians. EFE
