A Florida substitute teacher was accused of having sexual relations with a student in his vehicle and also demanding a sexual act from another minor.
The man identified as Marsel Javaris Smith, 27, approached a girl after class in October and asked for her phone number before bombarding her with several requests for explicit photos and sex, according to an arrest report obtained by WTVJ.
“Gee, it makes me want to see more videos and photos, but a little more, you know, exclusive,” he allegedly messaged the girl after she rejected one of his requests.
The teacher took the minor to a park
The girl, under 18 years old, continued to reject the teacher’s advances, to which he responded: “But come on, think about everything I can do at your school. You can trust me.”
Smith, who worked as a substitute teacher in Broward County for three years, finally met the teenager at a fast food restaurant on October 14where he allegedly demanded a sexual act from her, to which she refused.
Five days later, he picked up the girl and took her to Osswald Park in Fortress Lauderdale, and allegedly He had sex with her in his car even though she made her feelings very clear to him..
“She told the defendant no repeatedly and that she did not want to engage in any sexual activity,” police said, according to a report obtained by CBS Miami.
Smith attempted to speak to the young woman when they were at school, asking her to enter an empty classroom, which she refused. Subsequently, The young woman reported Smith to a school security agent, who forwarded the complaint to authorities.
Smith, a former Northeast Excessive teacher, was arrested Friday and ended his interview with police when asked if he had taken the girl to Osswald Park, saying he “couldn’t remember.”
More accusations emerge
While the police were investigating the first set of allegations, they became aware of allegations that Smith had demanded a sexual act from another girl, whose age has not been confirmed.
Investigators have not revealed any details except that he allegedly sent her a message when she gave him her phone number.
Smith appeared in court Saturday, where a judge charged him with soliciting or establishing a romantic relationship as an authority figure with a minor and sexual assault by a person 24 years of age or older against a victim who was 16 or 17 years old.
He has been ordered not to have any contact with his alleged victims and has been banned from teaching classes throughout the county.
